MDOT Public Meeting on I-275/M-153 (Ford Road) Area Study

The Metro Trail is part of this study.
There will be an open house-style meeting to provide an overview of the ongoing I-275/Ford Road Area Traffic and Environmental Study and Evaluation Project in Canton Township. Interested parties will have the opportunity to learn details about the ongoing study.  It is on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 5 pm – 7 pm.  Since it is open house-style, you can attend any time during the two hour period.
It is at the Summit on the Park, 46000 Summit Parkway, Canton Township.

 

Friends of I-275 Steering Committee Meeting

Meeting is canceled so that we can pick up trash along the trail.  We will be working from the Cherry Hill rest area, meeting at 5 pm.

MDOT Public Meeting on Upcoming I-275 Bridge Repair in Wayne County

MDOT’s construction this year will have direct impact on I-275 metro trail users since in entails bridge work.  The resurfacing between Ecorse and Ford Rd, along with the bridge work should address the flooding issue currently encountered on the trail between Van Born and Ecorse.

MDOT will be holding an open house-style meeting to provide an overview of the upcoming I-275 bridge and road repair project in Wayne County. MDOT will be repairing 34 bridges on I-275 between Hannan and 6 Mile roads, and will be resurfacing the freeway between Ecorse and Ford roads.  The construction is scheduled to begin in March.  Interested parties will have the opportunity to review plans and learn details about the project.

Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) staff and Engineering consultants will be in attendance

The meeting will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012 from 5-7 p.m at the Summit on the Park.  The Summit is located at 46000 Summit Parkway in Canton.  For special accommodations call 734 394-5460.

 

December Monthly Meeting

The next meeting for the Friends of I-275 Metro Trail is December 15, 2011 at 7 pm. We meet at the Plymouth Township Hall, located at 9955 North Haggerty Rd (northwest of Haggerty and Ann Arbor Rd).

We have a full agenda this winter season with many great plans for the next biking and maintenance season. We are planning a ride next spring to celebrate the trail’s opening to the Metro Parks.  We are also working on a maintenance proposal.

Anyone interested in the trail and its future is invited to attend.
